from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Stian Arnesen (pseudonyms including Nagash Blackheart, N. Blackheart, Nagash, Lex Icon) is a Norwegian singer , bassist and composer . He is best known for his work with The Kovenant , but was also a member of other metal bands.

Life and work

He became active in the young Norwegian black metal scene from around 1993 and recorded demos with Troll and Covenant . After the other band members left, he continued Troll as a solo project. In 1995 he recorded Troll's debut album Drep de kristne and Amund Svensson Covenant's debut album In Times Before the Light .

Arnesen joined Dimmu Borgir as a bass player in 1996 , with whom he recorded two EPs and two albums. He is said to have been the session drummer on Nocturnal Breed's debut album Aggressor as Rick Hellraiser in 1997 . He also released two albums with Jamie "Astennu" Stinson's Carpe Tenebrum in the late 1990s. In 1999 he left Dimmu Borgir again to concentrate on Covenant. After the successful second album Nexus Polaris, they had to be renamed The Kovenant for legal reasons and now they have changed their style away from Black Metal. The Kovenants third album was released that year; in 2000 and 2001 he released two more albums with Troll, which is no longer a solo project.

After The Kovenant's fourth album in 2003, he repeatedly announced a fifth, which was postponed several times and has not yet been released. Arnesen was a member of Chrome Division in 2004 and 2005 , but not involved in any publication. He was quiet for a few years. Troll's fourth album was not released until the beginning of 2010, in April of that year Arnesen appeared with Psy Coma, Hellhammer , Sverd and Sarah Jezebel Deva at the Norwegian Inferno Metal Festival Norway to play Covenants Nexus Polaris live. At the end of October 2011 he played Troll Covenant's debut album live at the Dutch Aurora Infernalis Festival.
