Stir It Up is a 1985 song by Patti LaBelle , written by Dan Sembello and Alle Willis. It's also a soundtrack for the movie Beverly Hills Cop - I'll definitely solve it .

history

Stir It Up was released on June 16, 1985. While it missed the top 40 on the United States chart , it made it to number 5 on the US Billboard Hot R & B / Hip-Hop chart. In addition, the song ranked at number 18 on the US dance charts. The songwriter won later with the Grammy Awards 1986 in the category Best album of original music written for a movie or a TV Special (Best Album of Original Score Written for a Motion Picture or a Television Special).

The song is not to be confused with the 1973 Bob Marley classic Stir It Up .

Music video

In the plot of the music video, Patti LaBelle presents the song with some studio musicians in a recording studio . There are also some inter-scenes; in one, people hold radios to their ears and in another, many people dance in a city. The city shots were shot in New York .
