Tasty is the second album of American Soul - singer Patti LaBelle from the year 1978th

background

Like their debut album, the album was only a moderate success, but gained attention through its disco club hit Eyes in the Back of My Head and the airplay ballad Little Girls . The album was the first of four that the artist released on the music label Epic Records . The song Don't Let Go was successfully covered by Isaac Hayes a year later . The gospel- influenced ballad I See Home was covered by Tina Turner a year later on her album Love Explosion . LaBelle co-wrote two songs on the album, including the soul- influenced Teach Me Tonight and the gospel track Quiet Time . Her mentor Bud Ellison took care of the musical arrangement. The up-tempo - radio -Disko Song Eyes in the Back of My Head peaked at number five in Italy .

reception

Allmusic's Alex Henderson described the album as "one of Labelle's best solo albums". Although it seems less daring compared to some of the releases of the Labelle trio, it is a solid, soulful soul-pop release. Four and a half stars out of five were awarded.
