Lying on the southern valley side of Glen Etive , the Stob Coir 'an Albannaich forms part of a chain of mountains stretching from Rannoch Moor to Loch Etive , which begins with the Stob a' Choire Odhair in the east and ends at Ben Starav in the west , includes several Munros. The direct eastern neighbor is the Meall nan Eun , to the west the Glas Bheinn Mhòr connects . The Stob Coir 'an Albannaich is a complex and, especially to the north and south-east, relatively steep mountain. Its summit ridge runs in an S-shape from the north to the highest point, then to the east and finally to the southeast. To the northwest there is another ridge that runs like a horseshoe around the deeply cut Coire glass and merges into the 825 meter high summit of the Beinn Chaorach . South extend from the top region, a plurality Kare , which in the running to the South Glen Kinglass open.

Many Munro excavators combine an ascent of the Stob Coir 'on Albannaich with an ascent of one of its neighbors. There are several ways of advancement. The shortest options start in Glen Etive north of the mountain. The starting point is the former Coileitir farm . There are opportunities to climb from there via the Beinn Chaorach and the northwest ridge as well as through the two cirques that separate the Stob Coir 'on Albannaich from its neighbors. On both sides of the mountain it is connected to its neighbors via Bealachs , which can be reached on the west side through the valley of Allt Choire Dhuibh and then Allt Mheuran and on the east side through the valley of Allt Ceitlein . The ascent options from the east are much longer, the starting point is the Victoria Bridge on the West Highland Way , at the west end of Loch Tulla .
