The parish also includes the church village of Winden .

geography

Stockensau is located in the Danube-Isar hill country and thus in the lower Bavarian hill country, which belongs to the Alpine foothills , one of the main natural areas of Germany .

To the west of Winden is the Windener Weiher , from which the Haslangkreiter Graben flows in a northwest direction through the Kreuter Weiher and then flows into the Paar west of Haslangkreit as a right tributary . The Stockensauer Graben rises in Stockensau , which then turns to the northwest and also flows into the Paar as a right tributary northeast of Unterbernbach .

history

Winden with the former castle chapel Sankt Johannes Baptist and the three Stockensauer houses west of the Stockensauer trench including the court chapel belong to the catholic parish of Sankt Magnus in Kühbach.
The entire eastern part of Stockensau with the former castle chapel of St. James the Elder belongs to the Catholic parish Heilig Kreuz in Weilach .

Until July 1, 1972, Stockensau and its district belonged to the Upper Bavarian district of Aichach as an independent municipality and was then incorporated into the Kühbach market as part of the regional reform in Bavaria and, with this, added to the newly founded Swabian district of Aichach-Friedberg.
