The Stocznia Gdanska B501 is built into four units ship type of RoPax - ferry the shipyard Stocznia Gdanska in Gdansk . The four ships originally built on behalf of subsidiaries of the Finnlines group were also grouped together as the Hansa class . With the Hansa series, Finnlines re-entered the passenger business between Germany and Finland in 1994 . In direct competition with Finnjet , Finnlines offered a small number of passengers (114) a 36-hour luxury crossing from Lübeck to Helsinki on the Hansa ships . In 2000 Finnhansa , Finntrader and Finnpartner were registered for Finnlines OY , Helsinki and moved from Nordlandkai in Lübeck to Skandinavienkai in Travemünde. The crossing was shortened by about two hours. This was followed by Transeuropa , which was, however, registered for Finnlines Germany.
In the course of the introduction of the Star class , the Finntrader and the Finnpartner were removed from Germany-Finland traffic. After a fundamental renovation (installation of a bow hatch and renovation / increase of cabins), these two ships will be used by NordöLink between Travemünde and Malmö.
The Hansa class today
At the beginning of 2009, Finnlines withdrew Transeuropa from the Travemünde - Helsinki route and has since been using it together with Translubeca on the Lübeck - St. Petersburg route.
