The Euroferry Egnazia is a RoPax ferry of the Hansa class .

history

The ship was built as Finnhansa at the Polish shipyard Stocznia Gdanska in Danzig for the Finnish shipping company Finnlines and was completed in July 1994. On August 3, 1994, OY Finncarriers took over the ship in Helsinki and started operating it between Lübeck ( Nordlandkai ) and Helsinki on August 10, 1994 . The christening of Finnhansa however, took place only on 19 September 1994 by Ms. Marjatta Jouhki held in Helsinki.

Since 2000, the ferry was registered for Finnlines OY, Helsinki, and served the Travemünde – Helsinki route. In April 2009 she was transferred to the Finnlines parent company Grimaldi and operated the route Genoa - Catania under the name Euroferry Sicilia . From July 28, 2010, the ship, renamed Transrussia , operated as a replacement for the Translubeca under the German flag in the Baltic Sea between Lübeck and St. Petersburg. At the beginning of 2014 the ship went back to Finnlines in Helsinki as Finnhansa . On October 28, 2014, the Grimaldi Group bought the ship and renamed it Euroferry Egnazia in November . The ship has been operating the route from Patras to Brindisi since December 23, 2014 .
