The Bielsko-Biała tram was an electric tram in the Polish city of Bielsko-Biała that operated from 1895 to 1971.

history

As early as 1884, only three years after the opening of the first electric tram in Berlin , considerations were made to introduce a tram operation, but there was no power station to supply the trams with energy. The power plant was built in 1893 and the tram started operating in 1895.

The first tram line was 2.5 km long and led from the station to Cygański Las 'Ziegeunerwald' , the second, also about 2.5 km long, was only opened in 1951 and led from the station to Aleksandrowice . Both tram lines only ran in Bielsko, Biała never received a tram.

Line 2 was closed in November 1970 after less than 20 years of operation. Line 1 followed on April 30, 1971.
