Network plan

The Slatoust tram in the Russian city of Slatoust opened on December 25, 1934.

The planning for the construction of a tram network in the industrial city of Slatoust, located in the Urals , had been in existence since 1928. The network is mainly two-track and the gauge corresponds to the Russian broad gauge at 1524 millimeters . The route length is 22.5 kilometers.

The routes open up the iron and steel works in the northwest, the Zlatoust train station in the northeast and the city's new development areas to the south . This connection runs parallel to an expressway on longer sections and has the character of an overland railway . Trams of the type KTM-5 of different series are used. In addition, nine vehicles of the type 71-619 are used and in October 2012 two articulated vehicles of the type 71-631 , which are now in use for the St. Petersburg tram, were brought to Slatoust for testing .
