The Irkutsk tram ( Russian Иркутский трамвай / Irkutski Tramwai ) is a tram company in the East Siberian city of Irkutsk . Five lines are operated in the city. The first line on the broad gauge network was opened on August 3, 1947. The power is supplied via pantographs.
The construction of the railway began in 1945 and was expanded further in the following years. Lines 1 and 2 cross the Angara River and connect the main train station with the city center. The rest of the route network is mainly located in the city center. Two branches of the route lead to Rabochee Predmeste and Massiw Solnetschnyi .
