The Ossinniki tram has been operating in the Russian city of Ossinniki in Kemerovo Oblast since 1960 .

history

The small town of Ossinniki, founded in 1926, is located in the southern part of the coal-mining Kuzbass . Trams have been running in Novokuznetsk, the center of the region, since 1934, and in nearby Prokopyevsk since 1936. A tram has also operated since 1957 near the settlement of Kaltan in the south , which was administratively subordinate to the city of Osinniki. It was not until 1960 that Ossinniki received its tram, making the network one of the youngest in Russia.

On November 1, 1960, the single-track line from the train station (Woksal) to the shaft (Schachta Kapitalnaja-2) was opened. Although the Kaltan tram is partly attributed to the Ossinniki tram in the literature, there was no organizational connection between the two tram routes, especially since the Kaltan tram only operated until 1961.

Both terminal stops were equipped with turning loops, and an intermediate loop was built about halfway at the RSU plant (today RMZ), which can be driven from the direction of the city. A depot was built near the train station in ul. Lenina. In 1962, a south-branching, also single-track line was built along ul. Kirowa to the stadium. It was served by the new line 2. A triangle was built at the junction at ul. Lenina / ul. Kirowa.

Line 1 Woksal – Schachta Kapitalnaja-2

Line 2 Stadion – Schachta Kapitalnaja-2

These line numbers were only used internally and were not displayed on the cars.

From 1976 to 1978 the line Schachta Kuzbasskaja (formerly Schachta Kapitalnaja-2) - Stadium was expanded to two tracks. The tram crossed a railway line near the RSU intermediate loop, where a track had to be laid. The route to the station remained single-track with a switch at the depot.

In 1991, the approximately 400-meter-long end section from ul. Kirowa to the stadium was closed and replaced by a further section in ul. Revoluzii. This was followed by the new route almost to the end of the newly created urban development. Since the extension of the line to Krasnaya Orlowka was planned, the new Yuschnaya loop was only provisionally built. However, this continued construction did not take place. The new route is about 1.4 km long. The network thus reached its maximum length of 10.1 kilometers.

The new route changed the priorities of the traffic service. Line 1 has been replaced by a new line 3, which runs from the station to Yuzhnaya. The section to Shakhta Osinnikovskaya was from now on only served by line 2.

In the 2000s, the service of the end section RMZ – Schachta Ossinnikowska was reduced by the introduction of line 4, which comes from Yuzhnaya only to RMZ. Line 4 took over part of the journeys of line 2. Since then the following lines have operated:

Line 2 Shakhta Osinnikovskaya (formerly Shakhta Kuzbasskaya) –Yuzhnaya

Line 3 Woksal – Juschnaja

Line 4 RMZ – Juschnaja

In 2010 the section RMZ – Schachta Ossinnikowska was closed and subsequently partially dismantled. The trips on line 2 have been integrated into line 4.

The following lines have been in use since 2010:

Line 3 Woksal – Juschnaja

Line 4 RMZ – Juschnaja

vehicles

The tram in Ossinniki was and is served exclusively with one-way cars. When the tramway opened in 1960, 15 four-axle MTV-82 railcars were delivered. In 1965 another MTV-82 was used from Novokuznetsk and two two-axle trains (railcars and sidecars) of the type KTM-2 / KTP-2 were added. In 1969 the delivery of four-axle RVZ-6 from Riga production began. The RVZ-6 replaced the entire previous fleet until 1972. The subtype RVZ-6M was procured until 1974, from 1978 the subtype RVZ-6M2, a total of 44 RVZ-6s were delivered until 1987. In 2017, two of them were still in use. In 1988 the Riga wagon factory stopped building trams. The Ust-Katawer Waggonbaufabrik took over the supply of the tram companies supplied from there . This is why Ossinniki received ten KTM-5s from 1988 to 1991 and two KTM-8s in 1993 . In contrast to all other tram companies that use these types, however, serious problems occurred in Ossinniki, which impaired the operational capability. As a replacement, LM-93 railcars were procured from the Petersburg Tramway Mechanical Plant (PTMZ). A total of 11 railcars were purchased from 1993 to 1999. By 1995 all KTM-5 and KTM-8 were withdrawn from circulation. One remained in Ossinniki as a work car, the others were handed over to the neighboring cities of Novokuznetsk and Prokopyevsk. The LM-93 did not prove to be particularly durable either; by 2013 five cars had already been taken out of service, one after a fire and another after an accident. One car each of the successor LM-99K was acquired in 2000, 2004 and 2007. In 2008 an LM-99AVN was added, this car has a low-floor entry at the last door. In 2012, two four-axle Belkommunmasch type AKSM-60102 were imported from Belarus . In 2015 a used KTM-5 was taken over from Novokuznetsk.

business

During the day, lines 3 and 4 run every 12 minutes, which results in a 6-minute cycle on the shared section. In the rush hour, line 4 is compressed to a 9-minute cycle.

Most of the trams are signposted without line numbers. In their place, signs with the inscriptions of the terminal stops are used, whereby the representation of the terminal stop "Juschnaja" served by all railways is partially omitted.
