The division combat exercise Straffe Zügel 75 took place from October 12 to 17, 1975 in the Nienburg / Weser , Celle , Bergen and Verden area . Taut reins 75 was part of the “Autumn Forge” series of maneuvers. 12,000 German Army soldiers and 1,800 US Marines took part in the exercise.
