Giant filters from the founding years

history

The company was founded in 1919 by Herrmann Strassburger in Ingelheim to manufacture devices for the filtration of wine. The filter devices, which were initially made of wood, were quickly used in the fruit juice and vinegar industries. The product range initially comprised the manufacture of wood, mass and precoat filters in sizes up to a man (giant filters ). Even then, the company recorded considerable export shares, especially of giant filters to the United States .

During the Second World War , the company relocated its production facility to Hungen in Upper Hesse. After the war, however, this location proved to be unfavorable due to the industry, so the company moved to Westhofen near Worms in 1953 .
