course
The almost three and a half kilometers long, long stretches of the natural Fläming River rises directly in the northern foothills of the Hohe Fläming near Steinberg. It initially flows towards the Buckau in a northeasterly direction. After a short run, the brook crosses under the federal highway 2 and flows through a boggy wetland. After about two kilometers, the Strepenbach flows through the village of Glienecke , which belongs to Ziesar , where it turns to the northwest. After a further kilometer and a half it joins the Buckau. Immediately in front of the mouth, the Strepenbach takes on its almost twice as long and much more water-bearing tributary Litzenbach .
Protected areas
In the course of the Strepenbach flows through three protected areas. The source is in the High Fläming Nature Park and conservation area High Fläming - Belziger Landschaftswiesen. The estuary is in the FFH area Buckau and tributaries.
