Glienecke is a district of the town of Ziesar in the Potsdam-Mittelmark district in Brandenburg . The previously independent village was incorporated into Ziesar on March 1, 2002.

geography

The village of Glienecke is about a kilometer south of the Fiener Bruch . The Strepenbach flows through the village and joins the Buckau to the northwest . Shortly before the estuary it takes in the water of the Litzenbach . The state road 93 goes through Glienecke , south, one kilometer away, the route of the federal highway 2 leads past the place.

history

The first written mention of the place dates back to December 28, 1216, when the Brandenburg Bishop Siegfried II confirmed his archdeaconate rights to the Brandenburg Cathedral Chapter when he assumed office .

Attractions

The centrally located village church Glienecke is a registered monument in the village . It is a Romanesque stone church with a tower with a baroque half-timbered structure. The ship was structurally changed. The windows are partly round arched , partly basket arched or modern rectangular windows .

The Eulenmühle on the Buckau is one of the many old water mills along the Buckau River. She still has a working water wheel . The mill is located about one kilometer northwest of Glieneckes.
