The Stropník , also Strobnice ( German (the) Strobnitz ) is a mountain of the Eastern Ore Mountains in the Aussiger region on the territory of the Czech Republic .
Location and surroundings
The Stropník is located in the upper Eastern Ore Mountains north of the town of Osek and the village of Hrad Osek, at the foot of the Ore Mountains . To the west, directly on the Ore Mountains ridge, is the small village of Dlouhá Louka . The little prominent mountain rises directly on the southern steep drop of the Ore Mountains . - The outskirts of Osek, only about two kilometers away as the crow flies, are more than 500 meters in altitude below the summit.
history
The remains of the foundations of a planned stone observation tower, which was supposed to be built around 1900, can still be found at the summit.
On July 10, 1910, a wooden, three-story, 18-meter-high tower was inaugurated, which the Teplitz Mountain Association and its branch association Ossek built. This collapsed on December 13, 1929 during a strong storm. A partial rebuilding was aimed for. However, for unknown reasons, this was not realized and since then the summit has been without a lookout point.
view
Above all, a comprehensive view to the south of the Bohemian Central Uplands is possible from the summit . The view of the rugged Milešovka ( Milleschauer ), Bořeň ( Borschen ) and the nearby Doubravská hora ( Teplice Castle Hill ) is impressive .
Paths to the summit
- A green hiking route leads from Háj u Duchcova ( Haan ) (train station on the Most – Moldava railway line ) over the summit to Dlouhá Louka.
- Another starting point is Osek with the famous monastery . From there one leads red mark on the castle Rýzmburk ( Riesenburg ) over and checked later g o.. green route.
