The Studienverlag ( spelling : StudienVerlag ), founded in 1990 by Elfriede Sponring and Markus Hatzer , is an Austrian science publisher in Innsbruck . Another publishing house followed in Vienna ; since March 2001 there is also a branch in Bolzano .

Companies

The aim of the foundation was to make scientific literature accessible to a wide audience. The study publishing group also includes the Löwenzahn Verlag , the Skarabaeus Verlag and the literary Haymon Verlag .

Publications

The Studienverlag is a forum for current scientific discussions, controversial topics and interdisciplinary approaches. The focus is on the cultural and social sciences, where the interplay and connections between culture, society, history and politics are the main focus. Current scientific trends such as women's and gender research and contemporary history in Austria or innovative developments in education have a permanent place in the program of the study publisher.

Twelve renowned journals from the fields of history and contemporary history , education and media studies expand the program, including the six-month publication Transversal . Zeitschrift für Jüdische Studien , a peer-reviewed journal of the Center for Jewish Studies at the Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz , since 2006 with the ISSN  1607-629X , as well as the bilingual historical specialist period Geschichte und Region / Storia e regione .

The series Austrian Contributions to History Didactics has been published since 2008 .
