The Stüdnitz (formerly also Stiednitz , Polish Studnica ) is an approximately 38 kilometers long left tributary of the Wipper ( Wieprza ) in Western Pomerania .

course

Course of the Stüdnitz south of Rummelsburg to its confluence with the Wipper east of the village Techlipp on a map from 1910.

The entire river bed of the Stüdnitz from the headwaters to the confluence with the Wipper, which in turn flows into the Baltic Sea , is located in Western Pomerania . The catchment area of the Stüdnitz is about 315 km².

The Stüdntz rises in the Stüdnitzsee ( Jezioro Studzieniczno Małe ) near the village of Hammer , about three kilometers south of Rummelsburg ( Miastko ). It flows first northwards through Rummelsburg and, through its deep valley, splits this place into several parts; the market place of Rummelsburg is 87.9 feet above sea level and about thirty feet above the Stüdnitz. After Rummelsburg, it turns slightly northwest to the villages of Groß Kaffzig and Klein Kaffzig, then makes an arc and flows further north, reaching the village of Ciecholub ( Techlipp ), about six kilometers northwest of the village of Broczyna ( Brotzen ) on the Wipper, Trzebielino municipality ( Treblin ), and flows into the Wipper at this height.

After taking in a few side streams, the Stüdnitz already carries enough water about two kilometers north of Rummelsburg that it can be floated and from there on it and the Wipper Holz can be transported to Rügenwalde on the Baltic Sea.
