history

Stupe-iT was founded in 2002 by Simon Klausberger and Sebastian Seidl. According to the members, the name comes from the English translation for "to wrap something up". Raphael Rameis joined the band as a drummer shortly after the band was founded. Some concerts were played in this line-up until 2005, but no material was ever recorded. After Raphael Rameis broke his leg in an accident in 2005, Rupert Huber joined them as a drummer, but initially only as a replacement.

In spring 2006 the first concerts were successfully completed and intensive work was done on new material. In the summer of 2006 the guys went into the studio to record their first EP called The Cause of and Solution to All of Life's Problems . In the course of the recordings, Klausberger and Seidl Huber decided to become a permanent member. With the EP in their luggage, Stupe-iT toured all of Austria in 2007.

At one of these concerts, their current manager Reini Schwarzinger became aware of the band. After a few larger concerts a. a. On the gotv bathing tour, the band members decided at the end of 2007 to work on their first album with producer Andreas Fennes. The band also signed with the Viennese indie label crater8records. After pre-production in spring, the band began recording in July 2008. In the middle of the recording, guitarist Simon Klausberger decided to leave the band for private reasons in the spring of 2009. In the summer of 2009, Markus Knaus joined the band as a guitarist and finished the production of the LP with them. In January 2012 Markus Knaus left the band and was replaced by Christian Schneider.

Shadows of a Lifetime

On October 1, 2010, Shadows of a Lifetime was released , a concept album about a boy named Shadowboy who moves to the big city and has to deal with love, illness and death. On October 11th the video for the first single Shadowboy premiered on gotv . The second single Here to Blame premiered on September 28, 2011 on gotv. With "Here to Blame", Stupe-iT entered the GOTV voting charts at number 1 and at number 15 in the GOTV charts.

Mile end

In August 2012 the band announced that the upcoming album would be produced by William Francis ( Aiden ). For this purpose, Stupe-iT went to the London Cafemusic Studios in September 2012. The drums were recorded at Limehouse Studios in East London. In an interview with Kerrang , William Francis spoke about working in the studio and working with the band. On December 21, 2012 Stupe-iT presented the first single Good Killers with a video. With the video, the new bassist Rob Stecker was also presented. The single was released on iTunes on January 25, 2013 and reached number 1 in the iTunes rock charts and number 13 in the general single charts on the first day. On March 15, 2013, the single Good Killers entered the Austria Top40 as the highest new entry at 32nd place.

style

The band's style was initially very much influenced by bands like Blink-182 or Green Day . Over time, however, the band developed their own style, which the band likes to call HorrorPopPunk. On the album Shadows of a Lifetime you can hear the musical diversity of the band very well.
