Sumie Awara
Sumie Awara ( Japanese 湶 純 江 , Awara Sumie; born August 19, 1952 ) is a former Japanese long jumper .
At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal, she was eliminated in qualification.
In 1977 she was fifth at the Athletics World Cup in Düsseldorf , and in 1978 she won bronze at the 1978 Asian Games in Bangkok. In 1979 she won the Asian Athletics Championships and was sixth at the World Athletics Cup in Montreal .
From 1976 to 1979 she was Japanese champion four times in a row. She set her personal best of 6.41 m in 1976.
