The Sundrun rises in the eastern part of the Ulachan-Sis ridge , which rises from the Kolyma lowlands , the eastern part of the extensive East Siberian lowlands . From its northern flank it flows, quickly leaving the foothills of the mountain ridge, predominantly north-northeast and winding through unpopulated areas of the lowlands. Finally, it flows east of the Indigirka Delta into the East Siberian Sea , part of the Arctic Ocean .
