Super minister
Super minister is the unofficial name for a minister who administers several large or important departments , mostly economics and finance. The term has been used at least since the 1930s, when Alfred Hugenberg and Albert Speer were named super ministers. However, there were ministers with several departments before that, such as Maximilian von Montgelas in the early 19th century.
Often these are ministries that deal with similar issues from different starting points. An economics minister is supposed to promote the economy, among other things with subsidies and tax breaks. The finance minister, on the other hand, also has to pay attention to government revenues. The Ministry of Justice takes care of civil rights and the decent housing and rehabilitation of offenders, while the Ministry of the Interior is responsible for internal security and repressive measures. This combination is usually avoided.
