Surho Sugaipov

Surho Sugaipov (born April 9, 1985 in Moscow ) is a German actor .

Life

Surho Sugaipov is of Chechen origin. He grew up in Grozny , where his father was State Secretary in the Ministry of Justice. According to his own statements, Sugaipov had the desire to become an actor from an early age. As a teenager he played in the school theater .

Sugaipov came to Germany at the age of 14/15 after his family fled Grozny during the Chechen war. He attended high school and graduated from high school in Würselen . He then worked in the family business and traveled for a year. a. through Chechnya, Turkey and Russia . He then studied business administration at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences , worked alongside an automotive supplier and graduated with a bachelor's degree .

A self-taught actor , he was discovered by a scout for the film. After the casting in Belgium , he got the lead role in the French cinema production Le grand homme (2014) from director Sarah Leonor , for which he prepared himself with individual acting lessons that the director gave him herself. In the Afghanistan war drama, he plays the Foreign Legionnaire Markov at the side of Jérémie Renier , who saves his badly injured friend and comrade Hamilton after they are both ambushed. Further cinema productions followed in Germany and France.

In Dortmund's Tatort: ​​Tod und Spiele (first broadcast: October 2018), Sugaipov, who was himself a professional mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, embodied the martial artist and “cage fighter” Abuzar Zaurayev.

He took on a serial role in the French crime and espionage series Bureau of Legends (2018). In the ZDF thriller Driven , in the TV series "TV movie of the week" was erstausgestrahlt in February 2019 Sugaipov played the foreman of a cleaning company, Zarif Mansoor.

Surho Sugaipov lives with his wife and three children in the southern part of Cologne .
