Christoph Halper (born May 21, 1998 ) is an Austrian football player .

Career

Halper started his career at ASK Oberdorf . In January 2014 he moved to the regional division SV Stegersbach . In March 2014 he made his debut for Stegersbach in the regional league when he came on as a substitute for Georg Krenn on the 17th matchday of the 2013/14 season against ATSV Ober-Grafendorf in the 74th minute . By the end of the season, Halper made eight regional league appearances for Stegersbach.

For the 2014/15 season he moved to the FC Red Bull Salzburg academy , where he played for two years. After two years with Salzburg, he moved to the fourth-class amateurs of SV Mattersburg for the 2016/17 season . He played his first game for this in the regional league in August 2016 against SV Eberau . In the same month he scored his first goal for Mattersburg II in a 3-0 win against ASK Horitschon . After he had become champions in his first season with the Mattersburgers with the amateurs, but failed in the relegation for promotion, rose he went straight to the club in 2018 as the new champion.

In August 2018, Halper scored his first goal in the third-highest division in a 3-1 defeat against the Wiener Sport-Club . By the winter break of the 2018/19 season, Halper made 16 appearances in which he scored nine goals. In February 2019 he made his debut for the professionals in the Bundesliga when he came on as a substitute for Andreas Gruber on matchday 19 of that season against SK Sturm Graz in the 81st minute . The club stopped playing after the 2019/20 season.

He then moved to SKN St. Pölten for the 2020/21 season , where he received a contract that ran until June 2022.

National team

In September 2019 Halper made his debut against Albania for the Austrian U-21 selection .
