Georg Krenn (born October 4, 1990 in Güssing ) is a former Austrian football player on the position of midfielder . He was used both in the central midfield and on the wings .

In the United Kingdom he usually appeared under the English variant of his first name as George Krenn .

Career

youth

Krenn began his active career as a football player in 1998 at SV Neuberg in Neuberg , Burgenland, in the Güssing district . There he went through almost all youth classes and came to the Federal Youth Center (BNZ) Burgenland in 2004. After almost a year he returned to Neuberg and a month later he was sent to the youth division of the cooperation club FC Admira Wacker Mödling , where he also attended their soccer academy from 2005 onwards.

After Krenn was reported to his home club for a month every year until 2007, but then immediately played again in the Admira's youth teams, he moved to Liverpool in England to Everton, which played there, at the beginning of August 2007 . Before that, his manager gave him the chance to complete a trial training session and a test match for the traditional English club. After the club accepted, the then 16-year-old signed a three-year contract.

At the Toffees , the club's nickname, it was mainly used in the U-18 and U-19 teams. In autumn 2008 he was still part of the U-18 team and was thrown back again and again by injuries until spring 2009. He suffered from an ankle injury in his first season at Everton.

In an interview at the beginning of April 2009, he said he wanted to leave Everton FC the following summer because he did not believe in moving up in its professional squad. At that time he had the intention to want to move within England or the Netherlands . He ruled out a move to Austria.

After completing a trial training session with Dutch Willem II Tilburg in July 2009 , where he stood out for his good performance, he should be signed in the same month. However, there was never a contract between the young midfielder and the club from the Eredivisie .

Club career

In August 2009 Georg Krenn returned to Austria, where contract negotiations with Bundesliga club Kapfenberger SV began. On August 21, 2009 he finally signed a two-year contract with the Upper Styrians .

Just two days later, on August 23, 2009, Krenn made his professional debut in the 1-0 home defeat against SV Mattersburg when he came on for Arno Kozelsky in the 72nd minute .

International

After he was already used for the U-16 national team of Austria, Krenn completed a single international match for the Austrian U-17 selection . At around the same time, the young midfielder was called up for the Austrian U-18 national team . Furthermore, he was in the squad of the Austrian U-19 national team from October 2008 to summer 2009 and came to four short appearances. At the beginning of October 2008, Krenn was called up under the then U-19 coach Peter Persidis in the 18-man squad for qualifying for the U-19 European Championship 2009 in Ukraine . In the second qualifying match against the Icelandic U-19s, Krenn came on from the 89th minute for Christopher Drazan . In the following game against Sweden's U-19 on October 16, the midfielder was substituted on for Drazan in the 46th minute.
