Alexander Schmidt (born January 19, 1998 ) is an Austrian football player .

Career

society

Schmidt began his career at First Vienna FC . In 2012 he joined the academy of FC Red Bull Salzburg . In the summer of 2016 he was pulled up into the roster of the bull farm team , FC Liefering .

He made his debut in the second division in November 2016 when he came on as a substitute for Robert Mudražija at half-time on matchday 16 of the 2016/17 season .

For FC Red Bull Salzburg he was on the U-19 team for the UEFA Youth League . In the final, he scored the winning goal as a substitute against Benfica Lisbon .

In December 2017, his contract was extended to May 2021. For the 2019/20 season he was awarded to the Bundesliga club Wolfsberger AC . By the end of the loan, he had made 19 goalless appearances in the Bundesliga for the Carinthians.

For the 2020/21 season he moved to LASK , where he received a contract that ran until June 2023. Schmidt was awarded directly to the league competitor SKN St. Pölten .

National team

Schmidt played against Italy for the first time in February 2015 for the Austrian U-17 team , for which he played three games by March 2015. In November 2019 he made his debut against Kosovo for the U-21 team .
