Susanne Leist

Susanne Leist (also Susanne Leist-Galanos) holds the Chair for Business Informatics III at the University of Regensburg .

Career

Susanne Leist-Galanos studied business administration at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main and received her doctorate there in 1997 with a dissertation on the subject of "Information systems and communication standards: a model for simultaneous selection". From 1997 to March 2004 she worked as a project manager for the “Competence Center for Banking Architecture in the Information Age” (CC BAI) and as a junior lecturer at the Institute for Information Systems at the University of St. Gallen . With a post-doctoral thesis on the subject of "Methods of business modeling - comparison, applications and discussion of integration potentials", she was given the license to teach business administration, in particular business informatics, in the summer of 2004 . From October 2003 to November 2004 she represented the C-4 professorship for general business administration, in particular business informatics , finance and banking , at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) . On December 1, 2004, Leist-Galanos took over the chair for business informatics, especially business engineering, at the University of Regensburg. Since July 2017 Susanne Leist has been Vice President for Studies, Teaching and Further Education at the University of Regensburg.

Susanne Leist is a member of the management committee of the specialist group "Information Systems in Finance" of the Society for Computer Science , is a partner of the Virtual Global University and a member of the editorial board of the magazines "Business & Information Systems Engineering" (BISE) in the Enterprise Modeling and Enterprise IS department, "Electronic Markets" (EM), "BIT Banking and Information Technology" and the research magazine of the University of Regensburg "Blick in die Wissenschaft". She works as a reviewer , track chair and associate editor on various international committees .

Her work focuses on the methods and techniques of business engineering , in particular process management , quality management , in particular the application of Six Sigma in financial service providers , information system architectures and the development and construction of methods (method engineering). In addition to publicly funded research projects (e.g. ESF , BMBF ), Leist leads various application-oriented research projects (including with Alphabet Fuhrparkmanagement , BMW Bank , DAB Bank , E.ON Bayern , Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen ).
