Susy Rottonara (* 1979 in Milan ) is a Ladin music artist from Stern in Val Badia . She has interpreted the role of Dolasila- ( Dolasilla ) in several internationally awarded productions on the Ladin legends of the Dolomites .

education

Soprano, pianist and author of experimental music completed her studies in piano and opera singing at the Conservatory of Music in Trento and her studies in foreign languages ​​and foreign literature at the University of Trento .

Career

She was a co-author, leading actress in the role of Princess Dolasila- Dolasilla , singer and author of the score for the Ladin film Le Rëgn de Fanes (2005) about the legend of the Empire of the Fanes , the national epic of the Ladins . On the occasion of the UNESCO designation of the Dolomites as a World Heritage Site in 2009, she composed the experimental opera Fanes Poem Musical with texts in Ladin by Roland Verra, premiered in the natural backdrop of the Dolomites and in 2011 with the Filarmonica Italiana orchestra in the Bolzano City Theater . Her album Dreaming of Fanes is the first album sung in Ladin to be included in the entry list of the (53rd)  Grammy Awards . She has been a voting member of the Recording Academy since 2010 . She has performed her music for the Ladin legends with musicians from the Teatro alla Scala di Milano and has worked with Grammy Award winner Laura Sullivan. In 2013 she was the Ladin cultural ambassador in the Italian cultural institute in Malta and in 2014 at the meeting of the Task Force Cross Border Culture in Belgium. She is co-founder and president of the Ladin cultural association Lia culturala Fanes for the preservation and promotion of the Ladin legends of the Dolomites.
