Suzy Larkin (born June 16, 1992 ) is a British tennis player .

Career

Larkin began playing tennis at the age of five and prefers clay courts as a playing surface. She mainly plays on the ITF Women's World Tennis Tour , where she has not yet won a title.

She played her first professional tournament at the age of 15 in February 2007 in Vale do Lobo , Portugal . In the same year, she played three more tournaments before taking a nine-year break to complete school and education.

From May to July 2016 she played several tournaments in Turkey, where she also reached her first final of the $ 10,000 tournament in Antalya .

In December 2017 she won both the singles title at the "Wellington Open" in New Zealand, where she beat New Zealand Fed Cup player Paige Mary Hourigan 6: 3 and 6: 3 in the final, as well as the double title with her partner Holly Stewart against Hourigan and her doubles partner Jo Carswell 3: 6, 6: 2 and [10: 7].

At the ASB Classic 2018 she slipped into the qualification field after a failure as a replacement and was able to compete in a tournament of the WTA Tour for the first time . But she failed in the first qualifying round against the Italian Deborah Chiesa with 6: 3, 2: 6 and 1: 6.

Personal

Larkin attended Buckswood School and graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a degree in mathematics in 2015 . Since 2006 she has also worked as a tennis trainer in various tennis clubs in Great Britain .
