Paige Mary Hourigan (born February 3, 1997 in Turakina , Rangitikei District ) is a New Zealand tennis player .

Career

Hourigan began tennis at the age of six, preferring clay courts. She played her first professional tournament at the end of 2012 when she received a wildcard for the individual qualification for the WTA tournament in Auckland . But she failed in her first match against Chanel Simmonds with 0: 6 and 3: 6. She also competed in the main draw in doubles with her partner Claudia Williams . The two lost the first round double against Marina Eraković and Heather Watson with 0: 6 and 1: 6.

In 2014 Hourigan returned to the ASB Classic in qualification , but failed in the first round against Grace Min with 2: 6 and 1: 6.

Hourigan celebrated her first tournament victory together with her partner Arianne Hartono in the doubles competition of the 10,000 US dollar tournament in Antalya in June 2016, where they reached Raluca Georgiana Șerban and Miriana Tona 6: 3 after their opponents gave up after the first set could defeat.

In 2017 she again received a wildcard for the individual qualification for the ASB Classic , but failed again in the first round to Arina Rodionova .

In college tennis, Hourigan will play for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets team from the 2014/15 ITA season .

Hourigan has been a member of the New Zealand Fed Cup team since 2017 , where she has won two of three individual encounters so far.
