In order to be able to meet the high financial costs associated with building a tennis career, she emigrated with her parents to Cyprus at the age of 14 , where she is looked after by Yiannos Hadjigeorgiou , the former coach of Marcos Baghdatis . She has been a member of the Masters Tennis Academy since 2013.
Since Șerban had her permanent residence in Cyprus for more than three years in 2015, she was allowed to join the XVI. Playing the small states of Europe in San Marino gold in singles and doubles with Maria Siopacha and silver in mixed with Eleftherios Neos . At this point, however, she had still not accepted Cypriot citizenship, so she was not allowed to represent the country in other international competitions.
From 2019 Şerban came to Cyprus in the Fed Cup , where she previously won seven of their eight games.
