Deborah Chiesa (born June 13, 1996 in Trento ) is an Italian tennis player .

Career

Chiesa started tennis at the age of six and prefers to play on hard courts. She mainly plays tournaments at the ITF Women's Circuit , where she has already won three titles in singles and 11 in doubles.

She played her first professional tournament in August 2010 in Innsbruck .

In 2013 she participated in the Australian Open in both singles and doubles in the junior women's competition. In the singles she was defeated by the American Allie Kiick with 3: 6 and 4: 6, in doubles together with her partner Aliona Bolsova Zadoinov to the duo Antonia Lottner and Erin Routliffe with 2: 6 and 2: 6 in the first round.

She won her first title in doubles at the $ 10,000 ITF tournament in Tinajo in January 2014 together with her partner Yuliana Lizarazo . This was followed by another five double titles at ITF tournaments in 2014 and 2015.

In 2016 she and her partner Martina Colmegna won the Internazionali Femminili di Tennis 2016 , a tournament in Brescia endowed with 50,000 US dollars .

In May 2017 she received a wildcard for the main draw in singles and with her partner Stefania Rubini for the main draw in doubles for the Internazionali BNL d'Italia , a WTA Premier 5 tournament endowed with over two million US dollars . In both competitions she lost in the first round. In August she was in the final of the boso Ladies Open Hechingen 2017 and a week later the Montreux Ladies Open 2017 . In November she failed in qualifying for the Engie Open de Limoges in the first round with 3: 6 and 3: 6 to Elena-Gabriela Ruse . She ended the year at the end of November with her third individual title this year against Katarzyna Piter at the tournament in Sowade, Poland, with a 6: 2, 4: 6 and 6: 4 in the final.

In 2018 she started the qualification for the ASB Classic in Auckland , where after victories over Suzy Larkin and Tereza Mrdeža in the last qualifying round she narrowly failed to make it into the main draw due to a defeat against Sachia Vickery .

In February 2018 she played in Chieti against Spain for the first time for the Italian Fed Cup team . In her Fed Cup balance sheet she has a victory to book.
