Sven Beuckert (born December 12, 1973 in Stollberg ) is a former German soccer player who now works as a goalkeeper coach .

Career

He started playing football at BMK Oelsnitz and then moved to TSG Stollberg (until 1988). The first important station after that was FC Erzgebirge Aue , where he played his first friendly game for the first team in 1992. His first use in a championship game took place in May 1994 under coach Lutz Lindemann . At the end of the 1994/95 season, Sven Beuckert had already played several times. When Ralf Minge took over the post of head coach at the Veilchen in the summer of 1995 , the change to the goalkeeper position was finally completed. Jörg Weißflog had no chance at Minge and moved to Chemnitzer FC for a short time in 1996 . But Sven Beuckert became the undisputed No. 1 in the Lößnitz Valley.

Sven Beuckert moved from FC Erzgebirge Aue to 1. FC Union Berlin in 2000/01 . First he played as a regular goalkeeper in the Regionalliga (36 games), he was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga and reached the final of the DFB Cup against Schalke 04 (0: 2). Since Schalke played in the Champions League, Union entered the following season 2001/02 as a second division in the UEFA Cup . Beuckert made four UEFA Cup games and 32 games in the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2001/02 season. In the following season he lost his regular place (only 13 games in the 2nd Bundesliga) after a coach change to Robert Wulnikowski , which is why he decided to leave the club after the 2002/03 season.

Beuckert played since the 2003/04 season in the 2nd Bundesliga at MSV Duisburg . During this time he was always a substitute goalkeeper behind Dirk Langerbein or Georg Koch . In his first two years at MSV he only played once, on August 28, 2005, the 22nd matchday of the 2004/05 season in the 0-1 defeat against TSV 1860 Munich .

Duisburg was promoted to the 1st Bundesliga in the 2004/05 season . In the match between MSV Duisburg and Borussia Dortmund on the third day of the 2005/06 season , he replaced the injured goalkeeper Georg Koch from the 65th minute. The game ended 1: 1, but Beuckert didn't concede a goal.

On June 22, 2009, Beuckert's right thumb was torn off by a horse running through. In a three and a half hour operation, the thumb was successfully sewn back on. Beuckert planned to continue his career in the 2010/11 season, but then ended his career. In mid-November 2011 he was hired by MSV Duisburg as a goalkeeping coach. In addition, between 2009 and 2012 he was marketing manager at the women's Bundesliga club FCR 2001 Duisburg .
