Jörg Weißflog (born October 12, 1956 in Stollberg / Erzgeb. ) Is a former German football player .
Athletic career
Weißflog was a goalkeeper and played in his youth for BSG Traktor Niederdorf and TSG Stollberg . In 1974 he moved to BSG Wismut Aue . In the men's area, he was first used in the 2nd team of the Auer, which was then playing in the second-class league . Although he had already made 25 appearances by then, it was not until 1983 that he finally replaced Ulrich Ebert as number one in goal. Weißflog played 200 games in the GDR league for the Auer and also guarded the GDR's gate 15 times between 1984 and 1989 . His last four international matches took place as part of qualifying for the 1990 World Cup in Italy . For the Olympic selection , the Wismut goalkeeper stood between the posts in 14 games, but missed the jump to the Olympic football tournament in Seoul with the team .
On April 5, 1986 in the home game against FC Carl Zeiss Jena , Weissflog transformed a template from Harald Mothes from the left position about ten meters in front of the opposing goal with a direct shot. Jena goalkeeper Perry Bräutigam had no chance. In the following season, the goalkeeper was also on the top scorer list of the Auer Oberliga team.
After unification he played for the Auer Elf, from 1993 FC Erzgebirge Aue , in the third-class NOFV amateur league or regional league . In the 1993/94 season he scored another hit.
After his former national team colleague and now coach Ralf Minge no longer considered him in Aue at the end of 1995 and replaced him with Sven Beuckert , Weißflog switched to Chemnitzer FC in 1996 , where he played eleven games in the 2nd Bundesliga . He let his career in the Regionalliga Nordost end there until 1998, but was reactivated again in 2001 at FC Erzgebirge Aue, but without being used.
Further career
Until the end of the 2009/10 season Jörg Weißflog was goalkeeping coach at FC Erzgebirge Aue.
