Sven Offen

Sven Offen is a German director , editor and producer . He mainly deals with the recording of live concerts on behalf of various artists or German television. He also produces commercials.

Professional background

Sven Offen initially wanted to become a civil engineer or lawyer, but broke off his studies and began a career in the media as an outfitter for the ZDF program Die Rote Couch . After that, he was editor of the private television station Premiere in Hamburg, responsible for the daily music magazine Airplay and later for the show The 4th Dimension . In 1994 he moved to Vienna, where he initially produced numerous music videos as the managing director of DoRo . In 2000 he founded his own production company "JUST 24/7 Entertainment".

As a director, Offen has mainly specialized in live recordings of concerts. In order to document the special atmosphere at these events on film, he tries to work as inconspicuously as possible, mostly from the orchestra pit. He uses remote-controlled or tiny cameras that he sticks to the musicians on their instruments. Since 2001, Offen has filmed various reports for MTV for the Campus Invasion series , as well as recording the MTV European Music Awards , the Hurricane Festival and Rock am Ring in 2007 . Offen is also responsible for various advertising films, for example for Coca-Cola , Renault , Garnier and Red Bull .
