Svenja Greunke (born on 22. July 1989 in Langen (Hessen) ) is a German basketball - national player . She is used in the positions of small forward , power forward and, if necessary, also as a center . The height of the player is given differently in different sources as 1.87 m and 1.88 m.

Life

Svenja Greunke comes from a basketball-loving family. Her grandpa already played basketball. Her mother also indulged in this sport. Her sister Mara plays in the 2nd women's basketball league and her father is the former national player and Langen record player Rainer Greunke . Svenja Greunke grew up in Langen and learned to play basketball at TV Langen , which is based there .

Basketball career

Until 2015 she was loyal to her home club and played in its youth teams and ultimately in the Rhein-Main Baskets , the joint Bundesliga team of her home club and TV Hofheim . With the Rhein-Main-Baskets, she rose to the 1st women's basketball league . With the Rhein-Main-Baskets she reached second place in the German Cup in 2012 and 2015 and the runner-up title in 2013. After the Rhein-Main-Baskets withdrew the first team from the first division in 2015 for personnel reasons, Svenja Greunke moved to BC Marburg . In the 2016/17 season she was voted the best indoor player in the Bundesliga by the internet portal eurobasket.com . She stayed in Marburg until 2018.

In July 2018, French second division club Toulouse Metropole announced Basket Greunke's commitment.

National team

Svenja played her first international A match at 67:52 against Bulgaria on May 13, 2011. This was followed by 22 more appearances in the national team (as of June 2015).
