The Sveti Ilija (frequent abbreviation Sv.Ilija , German " Saint Elias ") is the highest mountain on the Croatian peninsula Pelješac and southern Dalmatia .
The mountain is located around 2.5 km northwest of Orebić in the Pelješac Mountains. About halfway there is a shelter of the association PDSveti Ilija - Orebić . The area is heavily karstified , there is a deep cave near the summit, but it is not open to the public.
The summit can be reached from Orebić by a hike of around two hours on a marked path, but there are also several other climbs. The Sveti Ilija is a popular hiking destination, especially due to the excellent view that supposedly extends to Italy on a clear day.
