Swen König (born September 3, 1985 ) is a former Swiss football goalkeeper and today's goalkeeping coach who has been under contract with FC Luzern in the Swiss Super League since summer 2017 .
Career as a player
König joined the youth department of FC Rupperswil in 1993. In 1998 he was signed by the Super League club FC Aarau . In the 2005/06 season he was sold to the Challenge League to FC Vaduz , where he played 14 games. For the 2006/07 season he returned to the canton of Aargau , for FC Wohlen . After David Zibung he was the second goalkeeper at FC Luzern . In the 2009/10 season he had four missions. On April 15, 2010, the Grasshopper Club Zurich announced the goalkeeper's engagement for July 1, 2010. At GC he wore the number 1. For the 2011/12 season, König moved to AC Bellinzona , and for the 2013/14 season back to his, as he himself says, home club FC Aarau. This means that he can play the Super League again in the new season, as FC Aarau recently made it to the top division. König will be there in competition with the goalkeeper Joël Mall .
Career as a coach
From the summer of 2014, König was goalkeeping coach at FC Aarau for three years. In the summer of 2017 he moved to FC Luzern in the same position.
successes
With the Swiss U-17 national team , he became European champion in 2002 . He was in goal at the U-19 European Championships in the 2004 semi-finals. A year later, in 2005, he was part of the squad at the U-20 World Cup in the Netherlands.
