Swift River Bridge at Conway |
The Swift River is a right tributary of the Saco River in the US state of New Hampshire .
The Swift River rises in the south of the White Mountains on the east side of the Kancamagus Pass . From there it flows in an easterly direction over a distance of 41 km to Conway , where it flows into the Saco River. The New Hampshire Route 112 (Kancamagus Highway) follows the entire course of the river. The Swift River drains an area of 292 km². It is almost entirely within the White Mountains National Forest . There are several rapids along its stretch of flow, including Rocky Gorge and Lower Falls . The river has no dams along its entire length.

- Albany Bridge , built in 1858
- Swift River Bridge , built in 1869, just before it meets the Saco River at Conway

A 6 km long whitewater section of difficulty I-III leads from Bear Notch Road to Rocky Gorge.
