The Swyers Point is an ice-free headland on the Scott Coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is on the west side of the Brown Peninsula and marks the northern end of Bellafronto Bight .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named her in 1999 after Lieutenant Commander Harry Merton Swyers (* 1943) of the United States Navy , who was responsible for public relations at McMurdo Station during Operation Deep Freeze in 1976 and 1977.
