Sydney Smith (Author)

Sydney Smith (born August 30, 1927 in Frankfurt am Main ; † March 26, 2011 ibid) was a German - English teacher and Latin didactic.

Life

Sydney Smith's career as a teacher began in 1944 after his school at the time, the Lessing Gymnasium , was evacuated to Bad Marienberg . Back then I was only 17 years old and still a student myself. In addition to this activity as a teacher, he graduated from high school and two years later studied Latin , history and Greek studies for teaching . In 1953 he returned to the school as a teacher. After his retirement in 1993 he was still responsible for the annual skiing leisure time at the Lessing Gymnasium in Niederau . In addition, he worked as a tour guide in Turkey , Greece and Italy and was senior student councilor i. R.

Smith lived in Frankfurt's Westend , where he died in March 2011 after a long and serious illness.
