Syna Kayser (born May 5, 1990 ) is a former German tennis player .

Career

Kayser, who started playing tennis at the age of five, preferred hard courts. She played mostly on tournaments of the ITF Women's Circuit , where she could win an individual title.

In 2004 Kayser won the U-14 title at the German Indoor Youth Championships. She defeated Katrin Schmidt 7: 5 and 6: 4 in the final. In 2008 she was defeated by Mona Barthel 2: 6 and 2: 6 in the U-18 competition .

Kayser played her first tournament as a professional player in 2005 in Buchen, and from August 2006 she was in the world rankings . At the end of 2007 she reached the round of 16 at the tournament in Ismaning and her first final in Lagos, which she lost to Zuzana Kučová with 2: 6 and 2: 6. From 2008 to 2010, Kayser achieved no noteworthy results at the ITF level, before winning the Knokke tournament in July 2011; she defeated Eva Wacanno in the final 6: 3 and 6: 0. A month later she was in the final in Braunschweig, which she lost to Dinah Pfizenmaier 6: 7, 5 and 1: 6 as well as the final in Stockholm two months later against Anett Kontaveit 4: 6 and 2: 6. Afterwards, Kayser was eliminated regularly in the first or second round; In October 2013 she played her last professional tournament. It reached its best world ranking position in September 2008 with place 420, and has not been listed since 2014.

Kayser played in the 1st Bundesliga in 2008 and 2009 for TC Rüppurr Karlsruhe . She played for DTV Hannover in 2014 and 2015 as well as 2017 in the 2nd division and in 2016 , 2018 and 2019 in the 1st Bundesliga.

Syna Kayser is a B-trainer of the German Tennis Federation and works as a trainer in her family's tennis school together with her mother Petra and her brothers Yannick and Robin. Since 2016 she has played for the Hawaiʻi Pacific University in the college team.
