The small community, which belonged to the Trier rabbinical district , existed until the 1930s. The largest number of members reached the community with 39 members in the year 1895. From this point on the number of the community members decreased steadily. The Jewish families lived in very modest financial circumstances. The community had a mikveh and a religious school. A teacher was not employed. The deceased were buried in the Jewish cemetery in Bengel. It is not known when the last parishioners left Bengel or were deported.
