Cernay Synagogue (Haut-Rhin)
The synagogue in Cernay , a French commune in the Haut-Rhin department of the historic Alsace region , was built in 1926 after the previous building was destroyed in the First World War. The former synagogue on Rue Raymond-Poincaré has been included in the inventory of cultural heritage in France.
The synagogue building was built according to plans by the architect Maurice Dreyfus. The prayer room on the ground floor had four arched windows, the Torah shrine on the east side towards the inner courtyard can still be clearly seen today. The prayer room was decorated with stucco , mosaics and wall paintings.
The building is now used as a residential building.
