The Leobschütz synagogue was the house of God and the spiritual and cultural center of the Jewish community in the Upper Silesian district town of Leobschütz , in the district of the same name that belonged to Germany until 1945 .

Since there were only places of worship and prayer rooms in private houses for the Jewish community, they began building a synagogue in the oriental style in 1864 . It was located on König-Ottokar-Strasse in the center of the village and was inaugurated in September 1865. A striking feature was the four-storey square tower with its tourelles on all four corners, which clearly towered over the prayer room.

In the Kristallnacht on 9 November 1938, the synagogue was Nazi - thugs burned down. The ruin was torn down, not least because Jewish life was practically wiped out through displacement and deportation / murder . Today the city belongs to Poland and there is a meadow with a memorial stone on the site of the former synagogue .
