Synology RackStation

The Synology RackStation is a rack-mounted version of the DiskStation. It has the same characteristics as the DiskStation with the difference that it is intended for installation in a 19-inch rack frame. Some of Synology's rack models have redundant power supplies. Like its desktop-oriented sibling, selected RackStation models also offer memory scalability.

The DiskStation Manager (DSM) is a Linux -based operating system for NAS devices of the series DiskStation and RackStation . The user interface is web-based . Synology DSM is the foundation of DiskStation, which integrates the basic functions of file sharing, centralized backup, RAID storage, multimedia streaming, virtual storage, and using the DiskStation as a network video recorder. Synology also offers its users free mobile apps or packages, including support for iOS, Android, and Kindle Fire. This includes both in-house developments and external software such as Mediawiki , GitLab or PHP .
