The Sysranka ( Russian Сызранка, Сызрань ( Sysran )) is a right tributary of the Volga in the Russian oblasts of Ulyanovsk and Samara .
The Sysranka rises on the Volga plate in the Barysch district of the Ulyanovsk Oblast. It flows through the Volga plateau in a wide valley in a south-easterly direction and passes the small town of Novospasskoye . Finally the Sysranka reaches the city of Sysran and flows into it on the western bank of the Saratower reservoir . The Sysranka has a length of 168 km. It drains an area of 5650 km². The mean discharge 46 km above the mouth is 13.8 m³ / s. The Sysranka is mainly fed by the snowmelt . The Sysranka water surface freezes between the end of October and the beginning of December. At the end of March / first half of April, the river is ice-free again.
