Attractions

About 2.5 km north of Tårstad and within walking distance from there is the so-called "Trollkjerka" or "Trollkirka", with a length of about 6000 m (of which 2000 m has been mapped) one of the longest stalactite caves in Norway. It lies between the two lakes "Lavangsvatnet" in the east and "Arnfinnvannet" in the west at position 68 ° 29 '21 "N, 16 ° 38' 26" E. The Arnfinnvannet drain disappears after about 500 m in the cave and flows through it ; How and where this water finally drains into the sea or into the Ofotfjord is not yet known. In the approximately 13 m high so-called church hall ("Kirkesalen"), which is large enough for 100 people, a waterfall pours down . The cave should only be visited with local guides.
