content

Bobby "Idaho" Kent is an agent for a Pony Express company and is sent to Sacramento to find incriminating documents for the murder of the local Senate candidate Bryan Talbot, who is running for the post against Stuart Cooper, and is spending huge sums of money on the election campaign and boycotted the Pony Express operation. Talbot finds out about this and sets up an ambush for Kent. But it is also saved by the intervention of a group of pioneers; he steals a horse from the group so that they can continue riding.

A new ambush attempt by the bandit boss Kriss ends even less successfully: he and three of his men are killed by Idaho; a few survivors inform Talbot, who now, against the advice of his wife Dolores, hires thirty people to finally eliminate Kent; Dolores pays Luke Prentiss, a sniper she was once dating, for the same job. The thirty men fight a tough battle with Idaho and the settlers who come to aid again, and suffer heavy losses. Prentiss, on the other hand, can catch Idaho Kent, disarm him and throw him into a ravine in a duel. Then he returns to Sacramento.

On election day, the man believed dead, who survived the fall, shows up in Sacramento and uses the evidence and testimony to seal the fate of Talbot, Dolores and Prentiss. The Pony Express can run again.

criticism

"Template-like spaghetti westerns with meager humorous approaches."

  • “Vice” wrote in Il Giorno : “This umpteenth spaghetti western has nothing at all to add something new to the topics we have scanned. All known ingredients are included; but the mix is not very convincing. Shot with limited resources, it also shows the poverty of content in contemporary westerns. "

Remarks

What is unusual in this film are the drawn transitions that connect the scenes.

The German theatrical version was cut down to 79 minutes; the video version was only 66 minutes long.
