Töpfersdorf is a deserted area in the district of Zeutsch in the municipality of Uhlstädt-Kirchhasel in the Saalfeld-Rudolstadt district in Thuringia .

location

The desert with the church ruins is hidden in the forest in the Uhlstädter Heide south of the Saale and the district of Zeutsch. The ruinous walls of the church lie on the edge of the desert of the former village; on the right side of the Saale not far from the district of Niederkrossens also from Rückersdorf and the Zeutscher Saale bridge.

history

The small village was probably founded in the 12th century. It was the Lobdeburgers who received active loan from the abbot from Saalfeld . The settlement was often desolate. From the 16th century onwards, only two houses were occupied for corridor supervision. The church was first mentioned in the 15th century . It was outside the town center. In 1688 it was made into a barn by Christoph von Kropff zu Zeutsch. The Lords of Eichenberg prevented it from being used because of the leaning of the church. In 1850 the last family left the Töpfersdorf site.

Relics

The up to four meter high walls surrounding the church have been preserved. The church was 23.50 meters long and 9 meters wide. The pointed arch windows were artistically designed. The foundations of several houses, a cellar and a brick well are also visible in the abandoned village.
